Creating the World You Want to Live In with LMU

If you’re up for the American dream, we’ve got scholarship opportunities waiting for you at Loyola Marymount University (LMU) in Los Angeles, California. (This is the part where you get excited.)

LMU is quite popular among international students who major in Finance, Entrepreneurship, Film and Television Production, Marketing, and Economics. Take one of these courses (or any of their 115 undergraduate programs) with an LMU-sponsored scholarship! 

Recognizing the Best of the World

LMU has welcomed more than 85 countries on campus for over 55 years. With its culturally diverse student community, adjusting in the University won’t be much of a problem. Even with your finances. 

All incoming undergraduate freshmen are automatically considered for academic scholarships. You just have to choose which one’s right for you. Here’s a quick rundown of available LMU-sponsored scholarships!

Arrupe Scholarships

Fr. Pedro Arrupe’s vision of ‘educating men and women for others’ is at the core of Jesuit education. This is pretty much what LMU hopes to achieve and what the Arrupe scholarships are for. Take note though that scholarship award amounts may vary between domestic and international applicants.

What’s in it for me?

• $12, 500 grant to full tuition (renewed annually up to four years)

Trustee Scholarships

The Trustee Scholarship is LMU’s most prestigious academic scholarship. Only ten students are chosen every year which makes the selection extremely competitive. Make the cut! When shortlisted, you’ll be invited to a campus interview during the annual Scholars Weekend!

What’s in it for me?

• Full tuition
• Room and board 

Presidential Scholarships

Presidential scholarships are the real deal. Student recipients a.k.a. the strongest scholarship applicants will enjoy admission to the University Honors Program, a paid summer research opportunity, and a mentorship program. Take your shot and be one of the presidential scholars!

What’s in it for me?

• $25, 000 grant (received annually for four years)
• On-campus housing (optional)
• Academic opportunities

Jesuit Community Scholarships

Good deeds don’t go unnoticed at LMU. If you’re a graduate of any Jesuit or Catholic secondary school and contributed to the community through service and leadership, you can be one of the ten annual recipients of the Jesuit Community Scholarships.

What’s in it for me?

• $10, 000 grant (received annually for four years)

LMU Achievement Scholarships

So you studied hard in high school. Awesome! LMU offers this scholarship to deserving students with excellent academic record. Simply put, this is when your countless all-nighters and hard-earned grades pay off.

What’s in it for me?

• At least $1, 000 grant (renewed annually up to four years)

How do I apply for the scholarship?

No need to apply! All incoming freshmen applicants are automatically considered for academic scholarships. Just make sure you’re enrolled in a full-time program (12-18 units) each semester.

My grades don’t meet the requirements. Are there non-merit scholarships available for international students? 

Yes. Check out search engines to find more scholarships for international students. Applying for alternative loans can also help pay for your studies.
