The Hospitality industry is a broad category of fields within service industry that includes lodging, event planning, theme parks, transportation, cruise line, and additional fields within the tourism industry. The hospitality industry is a multibillion-dollar industry that depends on the availability of leisure time and disposable income. A hospitality unit such as a restaurant, hotel, or an amusement park consists of multiple groups such as facility maintenance and direct operations (servers, housekeepers, porters, kitchen workers, bartenders, management, marketing, and human resources etc.).
A bartender is someone who mixes and serves drinks to customers, either directly from patrons at the bar, or through waiters and waitresses who place drink orders for dining room customers. They must know a wide range of drink recipes and be able to mix drinks accurately, quickly, and without waste. Bartenders work in restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels, and other food service establishments.
A Cook is someone who prepares and cooks food in a restaurant. It is a fairly generic title that applies to many levels of kitchen staff, from Executive Chef down to Prep Cook.
A Travel Agent supplies information, arranges travel itineraries and obtains necessary reservations.
Tourism officers/destination managers develop and promote tourism in order to attract visitors and generate significant economic benefits for a particular region or site.
A barista is a person who prepares and (also, generally) serves espresso-based coffee drinks. The term barista is also often applied to coffeeshop employees who prepare both espresso and coffee drinks. Although the term barista technically applies to someone who has been professionally trained in preparing espresso, it may also be used to describe anyone with a high level of skill in making espresso shots and espresso drinks (such as lattes and cappuccinos).
A baker is someone who will mix and bake ingredients according to recipes to make a variety of breads, pastries, and other baked goods. These baked goods are sold by grocers, wholesalers, restaurants, and institutional food services.
