Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a public university in Beijing, China. It is a Class A university under the Double First Class project of the Chinese Ministry of Education which aims to produce high-quality universities. BIT was founded in 1940 as the Academy of Natural Sciences in Yan'an and since then, has become one of the leading schools in China.
Today, Beijing Institute of Technology offers a wide range of programs. It is known for its programs in Information Engineering, Optical Engineering, Aerospace Science, Chemical Engineering, Automation, Transportation and Traffic Engineering, and Weaponry Science and Technology.
BIT has three campuses, Zhongguancun, Liangxiang, and Xishan Experimental Area. These campuses serve as home to more than 28,000 students; 8% of this population comes from other countries. BIT has international collaborations with 58 different countries as well as student exchange programs with 60 universities.
