Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is a public university in
Australia. It was established in 1849 and was initially named as the Brisbane School of Arts. It underwent a number pf changes to its name until 1990 when it gained its current name.
QUT has two campuses: the Gardens Point Campus, which is where students of
business, law, and science and engineering are based; and the Kelvin Grove Campus, which is where students of
creative industries, education and health students are based.
QUT prides itself as a university for the real world" because of its ties with various industries and its relevant teaching and applied research. Professionals and industry represantatives have also contributed to QUT's deveopment which has added a practical perspective to theoretical education.
